Wessex Country Fair Huge Success for Salisbury Hospice Charity

August 2018

This Year's Wessex Country Fair at Wilton Park saw people from all over the region flock to the Salisbury Hospice Charity's largest event of the year. In its 7th year, there were new Main Arena acts such as the Jez Avery stunt show, alongside more traditional country show spectacles such as One Man and His Gun Dogs and the ever popular sheepdog displays. We had something for the whole family, with petrol heads treated to vintage car, fire-engines, traction engines, tractor and agricultural displays, whilst for the children, we had donkey rides, archery and bouncy castles.

In the sweltering heat, people were able to take in and enjoy the live music, shopping, delicious food, bars and BBQ, while dogs splashed around in doggie paddling pools to keep cool!

The Hospice Village tents provided a welcome shaded area with people enjoying teas, cakes and music from the Shrewton Village Band.

Event Organiser Katie Hughes said:

'We were delighted to see so many supporters on such a hot day, it was great to see so many smiling faces! We're hoping this event will raise an amazing £30,000 for Salisbury Hospice. A big thanks to all our wonderful supporters and volunteers for helping to make this event such a success. Thank you also to Lord and Lady Pembroke for allowing us to host this event once again, in such a beautiful setting.'
