Local MS Charity benefits through our Christmas Tree Collection

April 2019

Salisbury Hospice Charity was recently delighted to present a cheque for £638.61 to the Salisbury and District Multiple Sclerosis Charity.

The funds were raised as a result of the Christmas Tree Collection at the beginning of the year run in conjunction with the charity Just Helping, where 10% of the monies raised (after costs) were donated to a local charity.

Tamsin Murley the Community Fundraiser for the charity said:

When we heard that one of our members of staff had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis this offered the perfect opportunity to give something back to our local MS group.

The cheque was presented to the group at their MS Focus Day held at the Whitehart Hotel Salisbury by David Woollatt the member of staff who was diagnosed with MS last year.

We would like to thank everyone who supported us and helped us raise over £7,500.

Thank you so much to Public Health England, TSB, James Hay, U-Drive Ltd Salisbury, James Ockenden Tree Services, Breeze Environmental, Salisbury Pizza Hut Delivery, Neil Smith Builder and Geoff Goddard of Rose Farm for all your help with this wonderful initiative.

Also, all the many volunteers who have given up their time to help us collect all of the trees, we couldn’t have done it without you.
