Salisbury Pluckers Ukulele Band entertain at our Carers Day

July 2019

Our Carers Day in our Peter Gillam Support Centre is held on the last Friday of every month.

The aim is to provide carers with a safe space to talk, gain support and relax. The day typically involves a group support session, an opportunity to try a creative activity and/or a complementary therapy together with the opportunity to meet and talk with other carers.

Today carers were treated to a performance of wonderful Ukulele music from the Salisbury Pluckers. They played songs from the 1920's through to the 1980's.

There were twelve players today but they have up to 28 members of the group. As well as wonderful versions of songs such as The Carpenters 'Top of the World' there was Rod Stewart's 'Sailing' and Yazoo's hit, 'Only You'.

The group have selected Salisbury Hospice Charity as their charity of the year and will be fundraising throughout the year at gigs.

A huge thank you to all of the Salisbury Pluckers for a hugely enjoyable performance!
