Wessex Country Fair Raises 30k for Salisbury Hospice Charity

August 2019

The Wessex Country Fair organised by Salisbury Hospice Charity in its 7th year saw over 3,000 attendees and raised an amazing £30k for the hospice. The charity is thrilled to announce an increase in attendance and in monies raised on last year’s event.

There was something for everyone including; dressage camels, donkey rides, climbing wall, falconry, rescue dogs, agricultural displays, live music, a wide range of trading stalls as well as displays of vintage cars and steam vehicles. The Hospice Village, run by our very own hospice staff and volunteers was a great success giving people the opportunity to learn more about the work of the hospice and providing an area to have a well-deserved sit-down and cup of tea.

Event Organiser Katie Hughes said: ‘We are so grateful that so many of the local community turned out to support the event which has raised an incredible amount for Salisbury Hospice. I would like to thank everyone who helped make the day such a success, especially our tremendous volunteers. This event would not be possible without the kind permission of the Earl and Countess of Pembroke and without our generous sponsor Smith and Williamson.
