Canzonetta at the Cathedral raises over 1.6K for our hospice

August 2019

We're so pleased to announce that our wonderful Canzonetta concert at held at Salisbury Cathedral raised £1,606 for our hospice.

It was such a lovely and atmospheric evening in such a perfect setting for the singing ensemble from Dorset.

It was the first time they had sung in the Cathedral, after singing in many churches around the Dorset area.

A special thank you to Lesley Williams who organised the event in memory of her husband Steve who was supported by our hospice team.

Canzonetta commented:

Canzonetta made its first appearance at Salisbury Cathedral on Saturday 6th July 2019.   The promoter of this concert is a friend of â€‹Canzonetta and we were very pleased to be invited to present this concert in the Cathedral to raise much-needed funding for Salisbury Hospice, in memory of her husband Steve who died two years ago. The concert raised £1606.24p!

We had an exciting programme of songs, from Handel and sacred pieces to folk arrangements and 20c favourites; 70 minutes of close harmony singing, with stunning flute solos from Emma Estridge, followed by canapes and prosecco in the cloisters. It was a wonderful evening which will be long remembered!
