Continentle Story Telling and Exploration in our Peter Gillam Support Centre

September 2019

One of the areas we are very proud to fund is our Peter Gillam Support Centre.

This week Clare from the Forrest Forge Theatre Company joined our day patients for a morning of cultural exploration and imaginative storytelling.

Each week Clare touches on a different continent, exploring the traditions, artwork and cultural pastimes and asks patients to come up with different narratives to weave a story together about that particular area of the world.

This week was Oceania.

This often allows people to come up with innovative ways of thinking and interacting about places that may, or may not be familiar to them.

Clair says that it is a wonderful learning curve for both patients and herself and a very pleasant way to relax in or comfortable setting here ay the hospice.

The Peter Gilam Support Centre is a vital part of what we do at Salisbury Hospice Charity. The centre provides social support for both inpatients and patients from the community as well as providing a day of respite for carers. It is a place where patients can relax and take part in a variety of fun activities as well as art, music and dance therapies, aromatherapy and reflexology. You can find out more about it here.

This centre and all of these vital services are only made possible by your generous support, thank you.
