Dinton Cricket Club walk 232 miles for Salisbury Hospice and raise 3.5K!

May 2020

Dinton Cricket Club showed their incredible teamwork over the weekend, walking, running and jogging 103 miles from their home cricket ground to the home of Cricket, Lords in London.

Led by Ben Combes whose Dad and Uncle have been supported by our hospice teams, the group of ex-cricketers, current team members and children, many of them dressed in full padding and holding bats, took on the challenge.

In a twist to this fundraising story, Ben then convinced them all to do the return journey the next day, to support his uncle Joe who himself walked 10 miles of the journey despite having chemotherapy treatment himself on Thursday, which they did – and more (232 to be precise!!)

You are all absolute stars and have raised an incredible £3,589.76!!!!!!! Another great example of sport bringing communities together.
