Volunteers Week 1st - 7th June

June 2020

This week is Volunteers Week.

At Salisbury Hospice we have 126 volunteers in a whole range of different roles, from our day centre, complementary therapies, gardeners, bereavement support, drivers and so much more.

This graphic takes a look at some of the roles in a little more detail.

It is a week where the UK celebrates volunteers and says thank you to them for the very valuable contribution they make.

Our volunteer gardeners in our hospice garden.

Patients who are living with a life-limiting illness being cared for at home can sometimes feel isolated, nervous about joining activity and social groups or doing some tasks on their own such as shopping or attending planned appointments. Our community companions are an incredible group of volunteers.

They offer companionship, confidence-building and help with small practical tasks in the home and garden.

If you or someone you know would like to volunteer for our hospice, please contact Elaine.
