The palliative care therapy team is based at Salisbury Hospice and consist of an occupational therapist, a physiotherapist, and 2 therapy assistants. The team work with inpatients at the unit, with day patients at the Peter Gillam Support Centre, and with patients at home.

Specialists in supporting patients living with a life limiting illness, the team use rehabilitation and other interventions to enable people to achieve their goals and remain independent for as long as possible. Specifically, the team offers advice on exercise programmes, energy conservation and relaxation as well as management of symptoms, including breathlessness, fatique and pain. Their role also involves planning for the future, including family and friends in discussions when appropriate. Any equipment and care needs are also reviewed.
