Salisbury Half Marathon

Sunday 29th September 2019

12:00 - 16:00

Salisbury Half Marathon comes to the city streets this year on 29th September

We are looking for energetic individuals to run on our behalf. You can sign up for one of our  free charity entries by emailing katie.h@salisburyhospicecharity.org.uk
we ask that our runners aim to raise £100 towars the vital services provided by Salisbury Hospice

2019 will be the fourth year that Immortal Sport have delivered the race on the existing route. A very flat route comprising two laps. Each lap has very little elevation change making it popular both as a course to record a personal best and also favourable to first-timers. The format allows spectating friends and family to see the runners on multiple occasions without having to venture too far.

The temporarily closed roads start, in the City Centre makes for a great spectacle as hundreds of people line the closed streets to cheer runners on their way as they start their first lap, taking in many of the landmarks along the way.

The end of lap one takes runners through the Cathedral Close with entertainment provided by the local choirs of Kate Edgar

After departing the Close via High Street Archway runners are in the final stages of the route when they re-enter Cathedral Close to be welcomed by the assembled crowds with a lap of honour around the stunning Cathedral School sports field before crossing the line under the gaze of the iconic Salisbury Cathedral spire.

With the challenges that the city faced in 2018 the race still managed to grow in popularity with 1100 runners entered. The hope is this year to eclipse that figure.

The race starts at midday on New Canal, allowing runners to pass the Cathedral in between the services, minimising disruption.

Race entries are still available at www.salisburyhalf.com
