Salisbury Hospice Charity’s Cuddle Bed Appeal has surpassed £100,000 total, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the local community.
Launched with the goal of funding two additional cuddle beds for Salisbury Hospice, the appeal has gone above and beyond. Thanks to the heartwarming response, a third additional bed has now been funded—bringing the total number of cuddle beds at the hospice to five. Additional funds raised will be used to fund Salisbury Hospice’s vital services, helping to ensure the future delivery of essential, compassionate end of life and palliative care for patients and families across Salisbury and the surrounding areas.
Cuddle beds are specially designed to allow patients and their loved ones to lie side by side, offering physical closeness, emotional comfort, and dignity in the final moments of life. Their impact is profound.
“We’ve been truly touched by the extraordinary response to this appeal,” said Tom Goodinge, Director of Marketing & Fundraising at Salisbury Hospice Charity. “Because of our community’s generosity, more families can now share precious moments of closeness with their loved ones at the end of life.”
Senior Sister, Natalie Taylor-Muir, who led the campaign, added:
“These cuddle beds are about so much more than medical care—they represent love, comfort, and a sense of normality. Seeing couples lie side by side, just as they have throughout their lives, brings a deep emotional comfort during incredibly difficult times. We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make this possible.”
The campaign captured the hearts of local people, who came together in a powerful demonstration of kindness and compassion. Leaving a true legacy of love for future patients and their families.
Salisbury Hospice Charity extends its deepest gratitude to every supporter of the appeal. Your kindness has made a lasting difference—not just for today’s patients, but for future generations who will rely on the care of Salisbury Hospice.
While we’ve been heartened by the overwhelming response to our appeal, donations are still very much needed to support our core services. If you’d like to contribute to Salisbury Hospice, please donate here.
