The Big Give – Kind2Mind

Supporting Hospice at Home – Can you help us raise £10,000 for our service?

Tuesday 14th -28nd May

We are thrilled to be selected to participate in the Big Give Kind²mind campaign.

At Salisbury Hospice our mission is to help patients, following diagnosis of a life limiting condition, to have the best possible quality of life and have a dignified, pain-free death. We care for family, carers and friends who have needs of their own and provide support, comfort and advice at every stage of illness and after death.

Hospice at home enables us to stand by our mission. Providing our patients with the choice to die at home with the care and support of our dedicated team. This is why we are asking for donations to safeguard the future of this vital service.

The challenge begins at midday on the Tuesday 14th May during Mental Health Awareness Week until Tuesday 28nd May. Every donation made to our campaign will be doubled.

Why donate?

When facing a palliative diagnosis and end of life care, most people choose to be cared for and die in their own home. Despite this, most deaths in the UK occur in a hospital.

Research shows that home-based end of life care is linked to less intense pain for the patient. Patients that died at home were reported to feel more frequently at peace during their last week of life, than patients that died in hospital.

Unfortunately, access to end-of-life care is limited with many barriers preventing the facilitation of a patient’s wishes to die at home.

The solution

Our Hospice at Home service offers to support both the clinical and holistic needs of the patients and provides support and access to additional services offered by the hospice to families. At Salisbury Hospice, we want to ensure our patients continue to have choice around their treatment, care and death, providing peace of mind and a greater sense of wellbeing amongst the patient, families and carers.

How it works

We have been lucky to have secured pledges to the value of £5,000 to match your donations. We will only receive this pledge if you donate. For every pound you donate another £1 will be added to the fundraising pot, giving you an extra reason to give!

How to donate

Please donate through the link above or call our fundraising office on 01722 416353

One donation, twice the impact
