Inpatient Unit
At Salisbury Hospice, our Inpatient Unit provides specialist palliative care in a warm, comfortable environment where patients and loved ones feel supported.
Our dedicated team offers expert, person-centred care focused on dignity, comfort, and quality of life.
The Unit includes 10 private single rooms, five with ensuite bathrooms, each designed to create a homely yet safe clinical setting.
Facilities include a welcoming day room for patients and visitors, a complementary therapy room offering holistic treatments, and a guest bedroom for loved ones who wish to stay nearby. Every room and service aims to blend comfort, compassion, and exceptional clinical care.
Reasons for admissions
Patients are admitted to the Inpatient Unit for a range of clinical reasons. These include:
Complex symptom management
For physical, psychological, social, or spiritual symptoms requiring input from our multidisciplinary specialist team.
End of life care
For patients in the final stages of life whose care needs cannot be met at home or in another setting. We strive to honour patients’ wishes to die in the hospice, depending on bed availability.
Rehabilitation
For patients needing focused rehabilitation. Our aim is to help patients maximise independence, manage symptoms effectively, and regain confidence in everyday activities.
