Volunteer

Make a real difference by giving your time.

At Salisbury Hospice Charity, volunteers are central to our work. Whether you can give a few hours a month or time each week, your support makes a real difference to the lives of the patients and families we care for.

There’s a role for everyone, whether you want to work behind the scenes, help at events, or within the hospice itself. Whatever your skills or interests, we’d love for you to join us.

Your impact

In 2025 our fundraising volunteers contributed 2748 hours, helping raise over £288,400.

Put simply, we couldn’t do what we do without them. Every volunteer plays a vital role in helping us fund the vital services that Salisbury Hospice provides.

WhoAreWe

Volunteer roles

Administrator

We have administrative roles within fundraising and within the hospice. From a weekend reception to import tasks such as filing and data entry.

Inpatient Volunteer

Offer a friendly face and non-medical help to patients and families. This could be a cup of tea, a chat, or simply being there.

Corporate Volunteer

Bring your team together for meaningful volunteering days at our events-great for CSR and staff engagement.

Bereavement Support

Help others cope with the loss of a loved one. We’ll provide full training-what’s most important is empathy and a listening ear.

Collection Pots Coordinator

Place and monitor donation pots in local businesses or community spaces. This flexible role is a great way to help raise essential funds in your area.

Event Support

Help out at our fundraising events throughout the year-setting up, marshalling, running games or raffles, and more.

Brand Ambassador

Collect cheques from local fundraisers and community groups, thank them in person, and share their stories.

Complementary Therapist

Use your skills in massage, aromatherapy, or reflexology to bring comfort and relaxation to patients and carers.

Hospice Volunteer Driver

Join our Hospice Day Service driving team. As a hospice volunteer driver, you’ll play a vital role in helping patients attend enriching sessions such as creative arts, gardening, and “living well” workshops.
