Support
At Salisbury Hospice, support extends beyond medical care. We are here for patients, families, friends, and carers, offering guidance, comfort, and practical help every step of the way.
Whether you’re facing a recent diagnosis, seeking advice as a carer, or coping with grief, our services are designed to wrap around you and those you love with the care, respect, and compassion you deserve.
This page is your starting point for understanding what support is available and how to access it.
Areas of support
Our support services are wide, ranging and tailored to individual needs. These include:
Specialist medical and nursing care
Provided in our Inpatient Unit and through our expert palliative care teams working in the community and hospital settings.
Emotional and psychological support
Offered through our Family Support Team and dedicated Bereavement Service, helping individuals and families cope with the challenges of illness and loss.
Social and wellbeing support
Available through the Peter Gillam Support Centre, offering guidance, connection, and activities that promote quality of life.
Rehabilitative therapies
Including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and specialist lymphoedema management to help patients maintain comfort and independence.
Complementary therapies
Such as massage, aromatherapy, and relaxation techniques to support emotional wellbeing and reduce stress.
Support for families and carers
We know how challenging it can be to care for someone with a life-limiting illness. Our Specialist Palliative Team is here to listen, guide and help. Support is available both during the patient’s care and after bereavement.
We offer:

We are here to support you with care and compassion, take a moment, breathe, You're not alone.
Referral Process
How to access our services:
Our services require a referral from a GP, hospital team, or other healthcare professional. However, if you are unsure where to start, our team is always happy to advise you directly.
Your support is our future
Last year, thanks to your incredible support, Salisbury Hospice was able to deliver patient-centred palliative care to more than 1,200 patients.
