Household Cavalry Regiment SPS detachment Raise Funds in Memory of their Friend

All members of the Household Cavalry Regiment SPS detachment have taken part in a virtual event completing an amazing 21 miles over a consecutive 2-day duration, running the equivalent distance of the English Channel.

In 2013, a member of the detachment’s best friend, Laura who was 25 was supported by our hospice teams.

The fundraising organiser Danielle Leboutillier-Lewis said:

They say friends are the family we choose. Laura was like a sister to me.

Myself, Laura and Charlotte (her twin) made memories that will never be forgotten and Laura’s strength and bravery left a lasting impression on those she left behind. She taught us to never take life for granted, push through the battles we are faced with and cherish the ones around us.

Laura passing away was a devastating moment that changed me forever, but Laura was ridiculously happy in life, so let us celebrate her life by raising money for a fabulous charity and team that did a remarkable job when Laura was in their care.

Danielle also ran the midnight walk route which she normally walks every year in memory of her dear friend Laura too.

Danielle, you and the team are an absolute inspiration!
