We are absolutely delighted that our inaugural Open Garden Season has raised in excess of £6,000 for Salisbury Hospice! Over three months, 15 beautiful gardens opened to the public in aid of compassionate palliative and end of life care for local people. The gardens were superbly well attended by visitors and wonderfully supported by volunteers.
We are hugely grateful for the support of our headline sponsor, Colten Care, who showcased their extraordinary care home Braemar Lodge on 1st August. Attendees were treated to stunning views of the gardens, spoke to residents and staff, and were serenaded beneath the afternoon sun by Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
Jackie Cash, home manager at Braemar Lodge, said: “Our Open Garden afternoon was a wonderful opportunity for residents to be part of a really positive and uplifting day, while welcoming the local community into our beautiful gardens. As headline sponsor of Salisbury Hospice Charity’s Open Gardens, we were delighted to play our part in supporting such an important local cause and to raise vital funds on the day.”
Thank you to everyone who visited the gardens, bought raffle tickets, and donated and purchased cakes – the whole event has been a huge success, and we can’t wait to see what happens for our Open Gardens 2027 campaign! Please click here to express your interest in taking part next year.
