Well-known Artist Richard Hoare Donates Limited Edition Print to our Hospice.

A well-known artist from the region Richard Hoare has donated a limited edition print of one of his beautiful pieces of work to our hospice.

The piece, titled ‘Valley of Tengudake Autumn Evening,’ has been donated after one of Richard’s friends was supported by our hospice teams.

Richard, who spent some time in Japan, painted this work and wanted to donate it for the enjoyment of staff and patients, saying:

‘ Valley of Tengudake Autumn Evening, ‘ The original of this picture was painted in the valley below the studio where I lived when I was working in Koumi – Machi Japan. These young mountains are volcanic and after a long day, I would go and bathe in the Onsen ( natural hot baths ) with all the locals. Being in Japan those months was a complete immersion sometimes even literally! The Song of Koumi is the name I gave to the body of work this picture is a part of.’

In our latest podcast, we chat to him about his experiences and this beautiful donation.
